An engine sputters up ahead.
The smell of rubber on asphalt lifts into the air.
Concrete crumbles, yellow flame rises.
Between the yellow solid lines, dandelions emerge.
A root of defiance in its uprising.
In time, they'll close their heads, shield the seed.
Waiting for flight, to emerge.
Here comes the promise of summer.
