It was a stillness that gripped me. As did the cold, lingering along my fingers. And in this quiet of the blue hour’s light, on the 12th day of 2024, I knew I would make it. Laying down low, on the frozen ground, amongst all those pretty dead things, my fingers curled in my camera’s grip. And I waited for the moment the light barely broke the surface. Onward.
